Where to Eat... |
|
Breakfast |
Gran Forno on Las Olas for a great Italian Espresso and pick from an array of Quiches, muffins, turnovers, etc. |
Lunch |
Two pizza places: Anthony's Coal Fired for pizza and wings OR Pizza Rustica on Oakland Park (try the pizza with the ham, corn, onions, and more) |
Dinner |
Da Campo at Il Lugano for fresh mozzarella pulled tableside and outstanding carrot risotto |
What to Do... |
|
Morning |
Take a stroll on Las Olas. There are many nice stores and cafes. I would suggest starting on the West side by Huizenga Park by the New River and working your way East towards the beach. If you like people watching, the Riverside Hotel has a great restaurant on the street level or hold out for Gran Forno and espresso. |
Afternoon |
Head to the beach via the Sun Trolley. Walk the boardwalk and/or take in the sun. If you are looking for family fun head to South Beach by the Sheratons. If you are looking for younger/college age beach scene, try in front of Blondies. If you are looking for more tranquil, head up to North beach near the Palms. |
Evening |
You must hit one of the many great restaurants either on Las Olas or the Intercoastal. I would suggest at least once on your trip to take the Water Taxi. It goes along the Intercoastal from the New River and Las Olas to the main Intercoastal. You will witness the mansions and beautiful boats along the way. In fact, you can stop at Taverna Opa, Shooters, and more to grab a bite to eat. I like Taverna Opa which allows for dancing, music, Greek atmosphere, and homemade hummous tableside. |
