My Perfect Weekend...
My husband and I love the water. We enjoy various waters sports. We especially love cruises. We decided to celebrate our 5th anniversary in Fort Lauderdale where there’s plenty of fun and exciting cruises plus tons of opportunities for water sports and activities.
We spent the first day scuba diving and learning how to surf. Pro Dive International is said to be one of the best dive centers and has the best diving equipment. We went on a scuba diving charter aboard their custom 60’ dive boat. It was amazing. We saw different species of fish and other marine animals, colorful corals and more.
We had reservations for the Jungle Queen Riverboat tour, so that’s what we did later that day. The cruise was a lot of fun. We got to see and find out more about the historic New River and Millionaire's Row. We also made a stop at a tropical isle where we saw rare birds and monkeys and alligator exhibition. The cruise includes an "All You Can Eat" dinner of ribs, chicken and shrimp, followed by a very entertaining variety show.
The next day, we went on the Las Olas Gondola ride. It was very romantic. We got to see the most impressive homes in South Florida. My husband surprised me with a message in a bottle set complete with a rose and a romantic message inserted in the bottle hidden in the Gondola. It was so romantic!
That night, we ended our weekend getaway with, what else, another water activity. We went on a Full Moon Kayak night trip. The water was very still and peaceful. The tour includes a stop where the group “raft up” and share snacks and stories. It was a really unique experience for us.
